I teach English classes on Outschool. I also make and sell cold-processed soap, which you can find on my other website, English Essences.

I have three English degrees from two top British universities (Manchester and Leeds) and more than thirteen years of school teaching experience, from grades five to twelve, including preparation for national examinations at ages 16 and 18.

Even more importantly, I am an experienced Dad and home-schooler. My wife and I have been home-schooling our children for many years, giving us a powerful insight into how children learn at different developmental stages.

In my literature and English language arts classes, I aim to make classic texts accessible to everyone through clear explanation, lively and relevant discussion, and opportunities to write about literature with expert guidance. I place the literary text at the heart of each lesson, because I believe great writing speaks for itself.

My grammar classes employ simple and reliable methods to build fluency in key knowledge and skills, such as punctuation, capitalization and sentence construction.

In my Story Writing Club, we discuss ideas for the first part of the lesson, but we also devote much of the class to writing stories and sharing them, either privately through messages, or publicly by reading out loud. I always provide detailed feedback when written work is submitted to me, which is something my learners and their families value highly.

Sometimes people are a little unsure about how to pronounce my name. It is pronounced 'Rahdeechay', as it is an Italian word meaning 'root'. When I was at school, my nickname was 'Radish'. My siblings had the same nickname, which made things a little confusing at times! By the time I reached the end of high school, I had finally convinced my friends to call me by my human name rather than the vegetable one.
